Strategic thinker. Designer. Forever learner. Story lover.

That’s me in a few words.

My career sort of started at the end and has come full circle to the beginning – at least as compared to the typical design career progression. What I mean is…

I began my career nearly fresh out of undergrad at General Mills where I was a leader of people, a strategic bridge between marketing and design, and a design excellence thought leader. I touched nearly every brand at General Mills as a design manager both stewarding legacy brand identity and stewarding evolved ways of telling those brand stories. I grew brands and they grew me! But sometimes I’d walk the halls of GM admiring artworks in the corporate collection and feel that niggling reminder that I had planned to be the designer, the hands-on story teller.

So, 20 years later, that’s what I set out to do. I made a stop at MCAD to level up my skills and earned a master’s degree (Graphic and Web Design). I fell in love with front end development, 2D animation, and illustration. I brought all of the “hands-off” experience I’d captured at GM into this new “doing” work and, wow, has it buoyed my design skills!

Today, of course, A.I. is in my crosshairs – the next learning journey on which I’m keeping a nimble mind about what it (really!) means to be a designer. And I’m here for it!

Let’s go!
